hostap-utils software package provides Utility programs for Host AP driver for Intersil Prism2/2.5/3, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install hostap-utils
hostap-utils is installed in your system.
Make ensure the hostap-utils package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep hostap-utils *
You will get with hostap-utils package name, version, architecture and description in a table
